Wheelchair user experience
Few vehicles were converted for wheelchair access with the flexibility that suits so many wheelchair users as the Citroen Berlingo does. Its sister WAV, the Peugeot Partner was converted in large numbers and to all intents and purposes, the two vehicles are very similar. The suspension is good and views through the glass from all angles are excellent but this of course does depend on eyeline height. This is something we’ll establish with you.
Driver experience
The Berlingo is easy to drive, and comfortable and the controls are simple but plenty good enough. It’s available as an auto and manual diesel and air conditioning is present. The Partner is very economical and has enough power underfoot, especially in the manual diesel gearbox model. This WAV is a great all-rounder and represents excellent value for money, a manageable size on the road and parking is more accessible due to the Berlingo’s size and agility.
Passenger experience
As a passenger, your needs are just as critical as a wheelchair user and the driver. Legroom in the Citroen Berlingo is ample, and visibility is excellent whether you are. The driver and passenger seats are very comfortable and the good news is that the second-row single seat next to the wheelchair user is an original manufacturer seat. Sliding doors make entry and exit more straightforward and quicker for seated passengers, and for those with lower mobility, it is easier to enter and exit this WAV. You want to feel comfortable enjoying the experience of being in a WAV, and you won’t be disappointed.
