The low incline, easy to open, and solid rear ramp feels safe and secure, and the Courier doesn’t feel intimidating to enter.

Many preferred features we like to see in WAVs often don’t come into play in the marketplace, but Ford seems to lend itself well to the needs of accessible vehicles. A tight turning circle is necessary when carrying a wheelchair user, and the Courier does not disappoint here either. The wide and lengthy lowered floor compared to the size of this WAV is a pleasant surprise as it’s not uncommon to see larger WAVs with tricky access. The engine is lively and frugal and will deliver what’s required. No land speed records will be set, but that’s not a widespread need for this in the WAV marketplace. The Courier is economical too, which is always a relief with fuel prices being so high. All in all, this is an excellent all-around wheelchair accessible vehicle that does exactly what it needs to without any fuss.

The simple dash and a sensible specification will serve most needs as Ford planned their specification levels well, better than many have even in larger and seemingly better-specified vehicles.
